Teens for a Better World pilot program

After a long period of preparations and fundraising first program in my campaign Teens for a Better World has finally started.

Croatian Culture Home in Siroki Brijeg

My association, City Youth Council of Siroki Brijeg got grant funding from The Ministry of  Culture and Sports of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With these funds we afforded basic digital equipment for our new office in Croatian Culture Home in Siroki Brijeg.
The programs name is Drustveni Mediji za Drustvene Promjene, meaning Social Media for Social Change. I will write more about the project soon. Right now I want to say that the project is inspired by GNML and Youth Tech Camp 2015 in Vermont, and it has similar components.
Having this in mind here is a hyperlink to a blog like this one made by one of the participants of the DMDP pilot program. Blog is written in Croatian but I am sure Google can help you a bit there.
In the following weeks I will promote my campaign, program and participants more and more :)

Sincerely,
David

Reflection to Global New Media Lab Online

My single most rewarding experience during last 20 weeks of our GNML Online was reading and looking through the work of my peers. It has helped me to spread my horizons and define my way of thinking more clearly. I have enjoyed working with all of my instructors and peers and it has helped me to see the World with different eyes.
My single most challenging experience was probably session #6 because I am not a fan of myself on camera. This is the reason why I finished this session last. But I still finished so now I have a feeling that I can keep creating and posting videos. It was challenging, but it was helpful and constructive.
I hope that I will manage to utilize my new knowledge in all aspects of my life. Private and business. In future it will help me with my volunteering work, scout work, and maybe with my regular job, depends on where I end up.

Final Capmaign Post: My Social Media for Social Change Campaign in the future

I believe that the best way of describing my Campaign in the future is if I explain how I plan to use Global Media. Let's use bullet point format.

  • Blogger-I will use Blogger for posting examples of successful projects that are considering similar issues as we are. It is a good tool for giving people ideas, and it is useful because only the people who are really interested are going to read and view it.
  • Twitter-Platform that will help me to express my attitudes towards current affairs and issues. Simple way to state opinions and gain supporters.
  • YouTube-Another powerful media that I plan to use in a way of showing people how we are progressing and what are we doing. There is nothing better than interactive audio-visual content that is used to promote simple ideas.
  • Facebook-Fast reaching and contacting people on World's biggest Social Network. In my Campaign that considers teens FB-their second home is a perfect place for recruiting new and enthusiastic leaders.
  • Instagram-Power of picture can help me to send simple motivation messages and inspirational content. It will help me to give our teens a reason for getting involved.
  • LinkedIn-Excellent tool for creating a network of professional associates. It will enable me to connect with my current and potential partners and sponsors.

VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTE OVER 8,000 HOURS TO THE MINISTRY CENTER

8,000 hours is a lot of time. They have done it, we will do it as well. But it all starts with 1 hour, so let's do it. Let's finish the first one, 7,999 will follow. Look how they did it.

‘Fantastic’ volunteers give Preston centre a new lease of life

Working space. This is a crucial factor in every movement. As you can see here, in order to properly function they have created a new and improved working space. If you want to help some organisation, project, campaign, etc. try by helping them with finding and creating their working area.

Groups hoping more volunteers will ‘Man Up’ and mentor local youth

As I was reading this article  I realized that I share ideas with many other people. You can see by yourself that there are only 2 steps necessary for creating a Better World. Choose the right way and help others. Then teach others how to do the same :)
